International Conference «Social Entrepreneurship as an Instrument of Civil Society for Solving Social and Economic Conflicts Caused by the War» was held on September 14, 2017 in city Dnepr. The inviting party in the Dnepropetrovsk region was public organization «Discover yourself». More than 30 international speakers, including Ukrainian, from 7 countries shared their experience in building social businesses, talked about how social entrepreneurship can contribute to the development of Ukrainian civil society and the solution of social and economic conflicts, what ups and downs can appear during building a social enterprise and how social entrepreneurship can help to encourage people to solve the social and economic problems of small communities.
The General Consul of the Federal Republic of Germany Donetsk / Dnepr office Wolfgang Myosincker delivered a welcoming speech to the participants of the conference. The past conference is a part of the international project «Remedial action in the wake of war together», which consists of six key themes, one of which is «Reducing social and economic conflicts through social entrepreneurship». This part of the project is implemented by DRA e.V. in cooperation with the Eastern Europe Foundation, ChildFund Germany e.V. and the public organization «Kraina Vіlnih Lyudey».
The project «Remedial action in the wake of war together» is carried out by DRA e.V. in cooperation with the public organization «Kraina Vіlnih Lyudey» and six other project partners from Ukraine, Georgia, Armenia, Russia and Germany with the support of the Federal Foreign Office of Germany.
